LGBTQ Business Travelers: How Suppliers and Employers Fail Them

LGBTQ travelers often face challenges their mainstream colleagues don't. As employees, they are often failed by duty of care policies that don't address the risks they face, especially in countries where their identity is criminalized. As travelers, they are often failed by service providers who lack the training, understanding and tools to address them authentically and personally. With 1 in 5 millennials identifying as LGBTQ, the need to address these issues is urgent. This session starts with an introduction to the LGBTQ community, with an emphasis on transgender and non-gender-binary identity. You'll learn how, why and where issues of sexual orientation and gender diversity are relevant, and the current best practices for keeping LGBTQ travelers safe, and making them feel welcome.
